Hard-edge Painting Project..
Dictatorial-edge: a term coined in 1959. Hard-edge is used to describe a style of painting that uses straight geometric lines, sumptuous solid color fields, a neat and tidy surface, and an arrangement of forms using balance.
This out will consist of four parts (described below)
1) Research on hard-edge painting~ 10 points
-Your research should consist of NOTES enchanted while studying hard-edge painting and IMAGES that you feel are good examples of the hard-edge painting style.

2) Artist biography/ artwork critique~ 20 points.
-Your artist bio should be 1-2 pages in after a long time with margins of 1″, a spacing of no more than 1.5 lines, and a font size of 12pt. The biography should address the items listed below.

-Colleges, friends, colleague artists
-Styles of artwork created
-Major works created
-Museums, galleries, and shows the artists trade can be found in.
-Effects, impact on society, historical significance.
-interesting facts or stories about the artist.
-Your artwork critique should be 1/2-1 chapter in length with margins of 1″, a spacing of no more than 1.5 lines, and a font of 12pt. The artwork critique should address the items listed below.
-Describe. Register the name of artist, title of work, and gallery or location of work. You should take inventory of everything you see in the work of art. Remain to the facts. Imagine that you are describing the work of art to someone over the telephone. Make note of your first impression. When you are through with the critique you might be conversant with your first impression better, or you might change it. ...

From the half a second Kazimir Malevich, just before the Russian Revolution, revolutionised art itself with his painting Black Square, the story of art has been bound up with the search for ways in which to transfer human emotions, ideas, and beliefs, in terms of pure line, geometry, and colour planes. Malevich’s new non-realistic art was called by him Suprematism, though it is more usually known to us by a name Malevich himself introduced as a term of abuse, Constructivism. It is concerned with “The age as non-objectivity”, as the title of Malevich’s treatise of 1926 put it.

Non-representational art so quickly swallowed up critical attention that whole areas of figurative art still remain unexplored. Women artists, for exemplification, barely had time to get accepted before it was unacceptable for them to explore pictorially the female domestic world. Even an artist as enthusiastic to the everyday beauties of the home as Winifred Nicholson found herself painting constructivist abstracts in the 1930s, under the influence of her friend Piet Mondrian and the artists of the company Abstraction-Création.
