Decisive weekend of CHAN matches
DR Congo, Zambia and Zimbabwe are all well placed to temper for the finals of the inaugural edition of the African Nations Championship (CHAN).
The three teams go into the second legs of the closing round of qualifiers on the back of impressive first leg away wins.
The competition is for locally-based players only, with the finals kicking off in Ivory Strand next February.
Zambia have a 1-0 advantage over Angola in Saturday's game, and Zambia coach Herve Renard has recalled Rodger Kola of home side Zanaco, who had been on trials in Sweden.
Zimbabwe beat South Africa 1-0 in Atteridgeville two weeks ago, and recently-appointed mentor Sunday Chidzambwa has included youth international Knowledge Musona in his squad.
Musona was top scorer at the late-model Cosafa Under-20 regional tournament.
DR Congo host Cameroon in Lubumbashi on Sunday, after a surprise 2-0 away supremacy in the first leg.
Like Zimbabwe, DR Congo failed to reach the final round of 2010 World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations qualifying.Tanzania are also looking for consolation in the CHAN after missing out on the 2010 Nations Cup.
They have a 3-1 steer from the first leg as they play away to Sudan in Khartoum on Saturday.
Sudan welcome back key striker Faisal Agab and captain Haitham Mustafa, who both missed the first leg in Dar es Salaam two weeks ago, but Tanzania cram Marcio Maximo is confident.
